Paying for care is often the first question families ask. Advanced Care accepts several ways to pay for non-medical in-home care, and Medicaid is our primary payment method.

Medicaid, IRIS and Family Care
Advanced Care accepts Medicaid, including through Wisconsin’s Medicaid long-term care programs.
IRIS is a self-directed Medicaid long-term care program for older adults and adults with disabilities. The participant manages a budget for goods, supports and services and manages their own workers. Source: Wisconsin DHS, IRIS.
Family Care is coordinated by managed care organizations. To enroll, a person must be at least 18, be eligible for Medicaid, and be functionally eligible. Source: Wisconsin DHS, Family Care.
For both programs, the local aging and disability resource center (ADRC) helps people find out if they may be eligible.
Getting Paid to Care for a Family Member
Advanced Care takes part in Wisconsin’s Family Caregiver Program through Medicaid (IRIS, Family Care and Title 19), which lets some family members become paid caregivers for a loved one. HMOs, Managed Care and Other Programs
We accept most HMOs, as well as managed care organizations and other government programs. Plans differ, so have your plan information ready when you call us.
Long-Term Care Insurance and Private Pay
Advanced Care accepts long-term care insurance. What a policy covers depends on the policy, so have it on hand when you call.
We also accept private pay. Every care plan is customized to the client, and the free consultation is a good time to ask about private pay.
